The Full Form of Wi-Fi is Wireless Fidelity. Wi-Fi is a local area wireless networking technology that uses radio waves to provide high-speed network and Internet connections. It allows an electronic device to connect on the internet using radio bands. WiFi introduced in September 1997 and its synonymous is WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network). It allows computers, smartphones, laptops, tablets, and other devices to communicate over a wireless network. Wifi also provides a secure connection because it uses several kinds of encryption like WPA (WiFi Protected Access).
Wi-Fi network based on the 802.11 standards developed by the IEEE and adopted by Wi-Fi alliance. It is a trademark of the WiFi alliance that is used as a brand name for products using the IEEE 802.11 standards. You can also use to create a hotspot and connect several devices but its range is 20 meters (66 feet).
